Stretch of Santa Ana Freeway Set to be Closed Thursday for Repaving Work

All northbound lanes of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway and the connector ramp from the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway to the Santa Ana Freeway between Buena Park and La Mirada is scheduled to be closed for six hours beginning Thursday night to allow Caltrans crews to pave new freeway lanes.

The closure will cover the area from Artesia Boulevard to Valley View Avenue and was scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. and last until 5 a.m., according to Marc Bischoff of the California Department of Transportation.

"Detour signs will direct traffic off (the) northbound (Santa Ana Freeway) onto westbound Artesia Boulevard to northbound Carmenita Road to rejoin (the) northbound (Santa Ana Freeway) at the Carmenita Road on-ramp," Bischoff said.

Drivers can also take the Artesia Freeway to the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway to the northbound Santa Ana Freeway, Bischoff said.

The closure of the connector ramp from the westbound Artesia Freeway to the northbound Santa Ana Freeway was scheduled to begin just before midnight Thursday and last until 5 a.m. Friday, Bischoff said.

The scheduled closures are subject to change.
