Silver Lake Reservoir Joggers Warned of Four “Armed and Dangerous” Robbers

The LAPD issued an alert of two robberies on the jogging path, including one that involved bodily force and a weapon

Walkers and joggers who frequent the Silverlake Reservoir should beware of robbers who have recently stolen electronics from at least two people, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD issued a community alert on its Facebook page Thursday, warning residents of four perpetrators who have used bodily force and brandished a weapon during one of the robberies.

The four robbers are considered armed and dangerous, and police urged the public to leave any electronics at home and jog during daylight hours with a partner.

The path around the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power-operated reservoir is a popular spot for running, jogging and dog-walking in the central Los Angeles neighborhood.

Police said two robberies have involved Silver Lake joggers having their iPhone, iPods, headphones or mp3 players stolen from them since April 28.

The LAPD described the suspected robbers as Hispanic males, 16 to 20 years old, 5 foot 8 inches tall to 6 feet tall, and 160 to 200 pounds. All four men are described as having black hair and brown eyes.

The robbers have been spotted fleeing in a possible 1998 to 2000 four-door silver or tan Toyota, and/or a 1999 to 2002 four-door silver Honda Accord, police said.

LAPD asked anyone who sees any of the men or vehicles matching the description to call 911 and not approach the robbers, who were called "armed and dangerous."
