Six People Struck in Cypress Park Shooting

One victim was shot in the head.

Six people were wounded Saturday in a shooting in the Cypress Park area of Los Angeles, authorities said.

The shooting was reported at about 7:15 p.m. at San Fernando Road and Merced Street, Officer D. Orris in the Los Angeles Police Department Operations Center said.

One victim was shot in the head, Orris said.

Firefighters accounted for five victims, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said. One victim was in critical condition, two were in serious condition and two had non-life-threatening wounds, she said.

NBC News reported that a sixth shooting victim was identified in what law enforcement sources were describing as a possible gang-related shooting at an auto parts store.

Two suspects were reported taken into custody, Orris said.
