SoCal Edison Employee Dies While Working on Menifee Project

The utility worker who was electrocuted while on the job Thursday has been identified as Jose "Raul" Ros, according to Southern California Edison (SCE) officials.

Ros, 38, was working on a project Thursday morning in Menifee when he was electrocuted in an industrial accident involving underground equipment.

There was an electrical explosion and fire, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.

Ros, of Winchester, was pronounced dead at the scene -- near the Newcomb substation -- shortly before 8 a.m.

Three other workers suffered minor injuries in the incident and have been released from the hospital.

An 11-year employee with the utility company, Ros is survived by a wife and two young daughters, the company said. He was working as a distribution lineman.
