County fire crews mounted a ground and air attack on a fire that's scorched about 12 acres of brush before being stopped in the Santa Fe Dam area in Irwindale Wednesday.
The fire was spreading at a moderate rate amid 3 mph winds, a department spokesman said.
Super Scooper planes could be seen doing water drops on the fire and utilizing a nearby lake to pick up water.
In addition, a large homeless encampment was visible near the brush fire and was possibly under threat from a spot fire near the original brush fire.
