Authorities Saturday sought the public's help in locating a motorist connected with a felony hit-and-run crash with a motorcyclist in Norwalk, which left the biker with serious injuries.
The suspect drove his van out of the driveway of a convenience store on Pioneer Boulevard, north of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, about 6 a.m. Wednesday, directly into the path of a motorcycle going southbound on Pioneer Boulevard, according to Detective Carl Anna of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Norwalk Station.
"The victim's motorcycle collided into the rear driver's side of the suspect vehicle at full speed," Anna said. "The victim was ejected from the motorcycle and was seriously injured. The suspect vehicle continued driving northbound on Pioneer Boulevard and out of view."
Paramedics rushed the biker in serious condition to an area hospital, where he was expected to survive his injuries.
The suspect was captured on video just prior to the crash buying some items at the convenience store. He was described as a 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-9-inch tall Latino man, between 50 and 55 years old, weighing approximately 190 pounds with a gray mustache.
He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved orange work shirt, with "J.B. Landscape" on the back, blue jeans and a white cowboy hat.
The suspect's vehicle was described as a white 2000-04 Chevrolet Astro Van or GMC Safari van with a roof rack.

"There will be significant damage to the rear driver's side of the suspect vehicle," Anna said.
The sheriff's Norwalk Station asked anyone with any information regarding the crash to call them at (562) 863-8711.
