Suspects in Fatal Strip Club Shooting Arrested

The getaway driver was still at large and considered "armed and dangerous," police said.

Two of three suspects were arrested in connection with a gang-related shooting outside a Cathedral City strip club that left an Indio man dead and injured two others, police said Saturday.

The two men were arrested after the Desert Regional SWAT team served search warrants Wednesday at homes in Coachella and Indio.

Manuel Adolfo Vargas, 30, of Indio was arrested on Thursday afternoon while Christian Orlando Miramontes, 24, of Coachella was arrested on Friday afternoon, according to jail records.

Cathedral City Police Chief Travis Walker said Miramontes and Vargas were the gunmen in the shooting and that the getaway driver, Guillermo Gomez, 22, was still at large and considered "armed and dangerous."

"Call 911 if you see him," Walker said.

The shooting occurred sometime before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Showgirls Gentlemen's Club, 68444 Perez Rd., according to Walker.

Jason Rosas, 24, was shot along with two others -- a 28-year-old Indio man and a 28-year-old Coachella man -- who were both expected to survive, police said.

The shooting stemmed from a fight between two groups of rival gang members inside the club, Walker said. Police did not specify what gangs the involved parties belonged to, but noted that they were "out-of-area" gangs.

After the fighting guests were kicked out of the club by security, one suspect shot the victims with a handgun, Walker said.

All three victims were taken to a hospital, where Rosas later died.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting was asked to contact Detective Heather Olsen at (760) 770-0398 or Sgt. Rick Sanchez at (760) 202-2488.
