Unattended Items Prompt Bomb Squad Response at Willowbrook Station

The investigation led to suspension of service on the Green Line

Unattended items left on a train station platform led to a bomb squad response and suspension of service Wednesday morning at Metro's Willowbrook station (map).

Green Line service resumed normal operations late Wednesday morning after investigators, who used a bomb squad robot, identified the items as a jacket and computer.

Investigators were called to the station in the 11600 block of Wilmington Avenue, near the 105 Freeway, at about 10 a.m.

Green Line service was suspended between Avalon and Long Beach Boulevard because of the investigation. The Green Line and Blue Line intersect at Willowbrook.

The 105 Freeway remained open.
