La Crescenta Swatting Call Leaves Teens Traumatized

Deputies are unclear if the house was specifically targeted and who the caller was.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department received a call at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday night from an unknown person stating that they had just shot their parents and were about to shoot their aunt, as well.

The address provided officers was 4708 La Crescenta Avenue in La Crescenta.

Sheriff's deputies arrived at the location and surrounded the immediate area. After 40 minutes, deputies made contact with the parents who reside at the address and learned that two teens were inside the home unaware of what was going on.

After the parents made contact with the teenagers and instructed them to come out, deputies temporarily detained the teenagers before searching the home and determining that it was a swatting call.

Deputies were unclear if the house was specifically targeted and who the caller was.

After about an hour, authorities cleared the scene without any notable incident.
