Roosevelt High School Teacher Pleads Guilty to Having Sex With Two Students

Gabriela Cortez, 43, taught Spanish at the East Los Angeles high school.

A Southern California high school teacher pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges she had sex with two students.

Gabriela Cortez, 43, entered pleas on Monday to six felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, the Pasadena Star-News reports.

She's free on bail pending sentencing in January. The judge says he will await a probation report before deciding on a sentence.

Cortez taught Spanish at Roosevelt High School in East Los Angeles. She was placed on leave after her February arrest.

Prosecutors say Cortez had sex at her Montebello home with two male students who were 16 and 17 years old at the time.
