Teen Killed, Another Injured in East LA Shooting

A manhunt was underway Friday night for the gunman who shot two teenagers, killing one of them, in East Los Angeles.

The shooting happened between 3:30 and 4 p.m. near Ditman Avenue and Sixth Street, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

A 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy were sitting on the street corner when a group of men pulled up next to them in a white Dodge Charger, officials said.

One of the men shot the teens before the Charger sped away, heading west on Sixth Street, officials said.

Both teens were taken to the hospital. The 17-year-old died, and the 15-year-old was undergoing treatment, officials said.

"We're going to spend all night here learning anything we can," LA County Sheriff's Lt. Steve Jauch said.
