“The Voice” Introduces “Instant Save” Twitter Vote

It feature will allow people to save one of three contestants with the lowest number of votes

Fans of "The Voice" singing competition will have a new way to save their favorite contestants during elimination rounds.

The show announced Friday that viewers will be able to save one of three contestants with the lowest number of votes through a feature called the "Instant Save" on Twitter.  
 
The 12 finalists will perform and viewers will cast their votes on Monday's telecast. Then on Tuesday's live elimnation show, after the saved artists are annonced, the three remaining singers who are in danger of going home will be revealed.
 
That's when "The Voice" fans will be given five minutes to tweet, using hashtag “#VoiceSave," the first name of the contestant they would like to see stay on the show, host Carson Daly said in a video posted on "The Voice's" website.

In previous seasons, the show announced the week's three lowest-ranking finalists, with the two with the fewest votes leaving the show.
 
The Instant Save feature will be active for the next four weeks. The winner of this season's competition will be named on the Dec. 17.
