Thousands of Cyclists, Pedestrians Taking Over SGV for CicLAvia

CicLAvia comes to the eastern San Gabriel Valley Sunday, with thousands of cyclists and pedestrians expected to take to the streets for the event that encourages people to explore new neighborhoods and get out of their cars.

Streets along the route in San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona, and Claremont will be blocked to motorized vehicle traffic and open to bicycles, runners, skaters, pedestrians, strollers and "all forms of people-powered transportation," organizers said.

Hubs along the route dubbed "The Heart of the Foothills" will have information booths, restrooms, free water, free basic bicycle repair, bicycle parking, first aid, family friendly activities, two farmers markets and Earth Day celebrations.

This will be CicLAvia's 25th event since it began in 2010.

The route and more information on the event can be found here.
