Just an hour after appearing on live television, Tiny the dog was adopted after being shown on NBC4 News.
Tiny appeared with NBC4 reporter Robert Kovacik during a Clear the Shelters event in Van Nuys, where she and many other pets were up for adoption. With about an hour left of the adoption event, Kovacik encouraged viewers to adopt a furry friend.
"You can find room in your big heart for Tiny, an owner surrender who has been in the shelter for just too long," Kovacik said to viewers while receiving kisses from the dog. "We are going to find you a home ... someone please come and take Tiny and please find it in your hearts to find room for all of these pets that we have here."
And sure enough, someone did.
After seeing Tiny on the newscast, viewer David got dressed, threw on a baseball cap and drove to the shelter to adopt Tiny — one of more than 2,400 SoCal animals adopted on Saturday.
Tiny's new owner has had pit bulls in the past and had one pass away recently. But he has a new friend in Tiny, who found a forever home.
"We saw her and I just threw a hat on, put some shoes on and jumped in the car and came over," David said.

A woman who said she watched the dog's journey at the shelter said happy endings like Tiny's are what keep her going.
"I was the person who originally booked her in, and my heart broke for her because like Robert explains, she was given up by her owners," Brita Gorman said via Facebook. "On the day of this event, I had come onto my shift to find out she was being saved by this wonderful guy and his wife."
