Two Fountain Valley Police Officers Help Save Baby's Life

Two officers were being hailed as heroes Saturday night after helping to save a 4-month-old baby's life, Fountain Valley police said.

Officers responded at 2:30 p.m. to a call of a baby not breathing in the 11000 block of Slater Avenue.

One officer went into the home to find the unresponsive infant in the arms of the child's parents.

One officer began CPR before making the life-saving decision to rush the child to the hospital.

While one officer continued CPR on the baby in the back of the cruiser, the officers took the baby to the hospital where the medical staff was able to revive the baby.

"Fortunately when they got there they were greeted by emergency personnel, and the infant was saved," Lt. Matt Sheppard said.

The staff said because of the officers' quick actions, the officers likely saved the baby's life.
