Two Schools Locked Down in Search for Armed Felon

Two Boyle Heights schools were briefly locked down on Wednesday while police searched for an armed felon who was apprehended.

The schools, Santa de Teresita and Murchison Elementary, were locked down before noon, Los Angeles police said.

Police were searching for a Latino male standing 6 feet and weighing 220 pounds.

He was described as having long black, wavy hair and was wearing a black jersey and gray paints.

He was arrested before 2 p.m.
