Thousands attended Thursday's opening, and this weekend might bring a jump in traffic around the park. Following months of construction, a bridge extending over Lankershim Boulevard near the western entrance to Universal Studios opened just in time for the event.

The bridge allows visitors to cross to and from the Metro Red Line station instead of using a crosswalk at the park entrance. Metro officials said there will be "ambassadors" at the subway station to direct crowds and answer questions.
