    Shifting winds, record-high temperatures and dry brush are creating a fluid situation as crews battle a "very dangerous" wildfire that has ravaged more than 10,000 acres in Ventura County.

    Some 2,000 homes have been threatened by the Springs Fire, which has forced the evacuation of hundreds of residents and the closure of at least two schools and a college campus. Early Friday, the fire was moving toward Malibu to the south and burning near Point Mugu to the north.
