Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (L) and guest arrives at the MOCA NEW 30th anniversary gala held at MOCA on November 14, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.

No stranger to real life soap operas, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is set to appear in ABC's "All My Children," according to the LA Times.

But wait there's more. LA City Council President Eric Garcetti will be making an appearance as well. Both are celebrating the shows move to Los Angeles after 40 years of shooting in New York, the Times said.

Both Garcetti and the mayor will play themselves in different episodes. According to the Times:

He'll play himself crossing paths with Erica Kane, played by the legendary Susan Lucci, at a local hot spot called Confusion in the fictional city of Pine Valley. Kane will chitchat with Villaraigosa about meeting the year before at a charity event in Los Angeles.

Garcetti will appear with actor David Canary who plays Adam Chandler in a plotline that has the two discussing environmental issues regarding the fictional Chandler Enterprises, the Times reported.

The Mayor is no stranger to real-life soap operas. Three years ago Villaraigosa was caught having an extramarital affair with Telemundo TV news anchor Mirthala Salinas. Last year, the mayor was said to be dating Lu Parker of KTLA Channel 5.
