Caught on Video: Employees Extinguish Clothes Fire Set By Woman in Walmart

Store employees prevented the fire from spreading in the women's apparel section

Investigators released surveillance video Wednesday of a woman who set fire to clothing in an Orange County Walmart.

The woman can be seen walking away before the fire grows in the women's apparel section at the store on West McFadden Avenue in Santa Ana. Customers ran from the fire as store employees extinguished the flames, creating a large plume of smoke.

"Their quick actions likely prevented this brazen attack from becoming a large scale incident that could have threatened the lives of dozens of employees and customers," according to a statement from the Orange County Fire Authority.

The woman is described as a white or Latina, 35 to 45 years old with longer brown hair with blond streaks. The fire occurred Oct. 4.
