Vietnamese Entertainer Minh Beo Charged with Sexually Assaulting Boy

Authorities suspect there may be additional victims.

Authorities were asking for the public's help finding more possible victims of a Vietnamese entertainer who was charged Friday with sexually assaulting an underage boy.

Minh Quang Hong, also known as "Minh Beo," 38, was charged in Santa Ana with one count of oral copulation of a minor and one felony count of attempting to commit a lewd act upon a child under the age of 14, according to a news release from the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

On March 20, Hong was accused of speaking to a group of dancers at a talent show held at a radio station in Huntington Beach and telling the dancers he was hosting auditions for a video project. Hong was accused of orally copulating a minor on March 23 when he arrived for the audition, according to the news release.

The minor reported the alleged act to the Garden Grove Police Department, which began an investigation.

On March 24, an undercover officer posed as a minor and communicated with Hong while investigating the case. Hong was accused of trying to set up a meeting with the officer with the intention of committing a sexual assault and arrested, according to the news release.

Hong is currently being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for a continued arraignment on April 15.

It was unclear if Hong had an attorney.
