Portion of Sunset Strip in WeHo Reopens After Suspicious Package Scare

Authorities shut down a portion of the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood for hours on Sunday night after finding a suspicious package, which turned out to be safe.

La Cienega Boulevard was closed between Sunset Boulevard and Fountain Avenue. Sunset closed at Kings and Queens roads, and the Sunset Plaza was temporarily shuttered.

After 7 p.m., authorities received a call reporting reporting a suspicious package in the area. No evacuations were ordered, but nearby businesses chose to voluntarily evacuate.

The Sunset Strip was reopened shortly after 10 p.m.
