Westwood LAX FlyAway Bus Stop Moving Closer to Student Housing

"The new location is now much closer to UCLA student housing, and also services a wide variety of regional transit authorities."

The LAX FlyAway bus stop in Westwood will be moving to a new location closer to student housing and dormitories, officials announced Monday.

Starting Mar. 18, the new location will be on Gayley Avenue, just north of Strathmore Place on the east side of the street. Previously, the Westwood FlyAway stop was about a mile walk into Westwood Village from the campus, officials said.

The new location's intersection also services Metro buses, Santa Clarita Transit, LADOT, Antelope Valley Transit Authority commuter express buses, the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, Amtrak Thruway, and FlixBus long distance service.

"When it comes to public transportation choices like the FlyAway bus, having a convenient location is critical," said Gabriel Eshaghian, a member of the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners. "The new FlyAway stop location in Westwood is easier for students and the greater Westside community to get to and provides an excellent option for our LAX guests and employees."

The service's schedule between the new bus stop location and LAX remains unchanged, and the regular schedule from the Westwood bus stop to LAX operates hourly from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, including Sundays and holidays.

"At only $10 per trip, the Westwood FlyAway continues to be an easy, cost-effective option for those coming and going to LAX from UCLA and the surrounding neighborhoods," said Keith Wilschetz, deputy executive director for operations and emergency management at Los Angeles World Airports. "The new location is now much closer to UCLA student housing, and also services a wide variety of regional transit authorities."

In addition to the Westwood location, the FlyAway shuttle to LAX provides direct service to Hollywood, Long Beach, Union Station and Van Nuys.
