Four years of abnormally dry conditions have left many parts of California at high risk for wildfires.

As of June, nearly 2,500 wildfires were reported since the start of 2015, compared to 2,030 by that time last year. The state's five-year average for that same time period is 1,654 wildfires, according to Cal Fire.

The state's department of forestry and fire protection provides an action plan for residents who live in the path of these potentially devastating fires. Click the link below to download the action plan brochure, including a preparedness checklist, suggested items for a supply kit and a family communication plan.
