Woman Arrested for Allegedly Beating Toddler With Belt

The child belonged to an acquaintance of the woman.

A woman was taken into custody and faces felony child cruelty charges after witnesses say they saw her beating a 2-year-old with a belt at a bus stop in Palmdale Friday.

Deputies arrested the woman near the bus stop at 10th Place East and Palmdale Boulevard around 1 p.m.

The child was airlifted to Children’s Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and is now in protective custody.

The child belonged to an acquaintance of the woman.

The woman’s 8-month-old child was also taken into protective custody.
