Woman Arrested in Connection With Attempted Kidnappings in Glendale

Glendale Police say both of the attempted abductions occurred in front of the parents

A woman was arrested early Friday morning in connection with two separate attempted kidnappings in Glendale earlier this week.

The woman, identified as 52-year-old Lisa Arnold of Glendale, was taken into custody around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

The two attempted child abductions occurred within the same hour Wednesday evening and were located less than a mile apart.

The first attempted abduction happened Wednesday around 5 p.m. at the corner of Chevy Chase and Adams Street in Glendale. Video footage of the incident shows a person attempting to snatch an infant from a stroller. The baby's mother fought back and the suspect fled the scene.

The second abduction attempt was reported 20 minutes later at John Marshall Elementary School on East Broadway. Again, the child's mother interrupted the kidnapping and the suspect fled in a silver sedan.

In both incidents, the perpetrator said something along the lines of, "you're so cute" when approaching the child, Sgt. Robert William of the Glendale PD said.

On Thursday, police said they received conflicting reports about whether the suspect was a man or a woman. However, on Friday, authorities said in a press release that they are not looking for any other suspects.
