A woman was found dead early Tuesday morning inside an office building in Newport Beach, police said.
Police received a call from a friend of the woman, in her early 20s, just after 1 a.m. and responded to the 5000 block of Campus Drive near Teller Avenue, according to the Newport Beach Police Department. The body was discovered inside a Coast to Coast Copy office in a building at the complex.
Authorities said the woman, identified Wednesday as 23-year-old Sarai Alcaraz of Long Beach, did not appear to be an employee of the business.
Details regarding a cause of death were not immediately available. Authorities also are attempting to determine the woman's connection to the office building.
The office buildings mostly contain law offices, financial planners and other professional services.
Friends began to worry after she stopped responding to text messages overnight, police said. The woman is said to be between 20 and 25 years old.
Police said a white van was seen leaving the area Tuesday morning. Detectives were looking for surveillance video from the office building.
