Woman's Body Found in San Gabriel Mountains in the City of Azusa

A woman's bloody body was discovered in a gulley in the San Gabriel Mountains in an unincorporated area of LA County Saturday by a man on a walk, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The body was discovered at approximately 12:15 p.m. about one mile east of Highway 39 in the San Gabriel Mountains, according to LASD.

Authorities responding to the call from a local on a walk that discovered the body found the woman lying in a culvert that is adjacent to a roadway turnout per the LASD. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma, according to the LASD.

The investigation was ongoing, and homicide detectives were on scene.
