Woman Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on PCH in Long Beach

A woman was seriously injured in Long Beach Friday when she was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.

The pedestrian was crossing Pacific Coast Highway in the area ofHarbor Avenue about 6:10 p.m. when she was hit. Firefighters took her to a hospital, according to Long Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Alvino Herrera.

The vehicle, described as a blue, mid-2000s Honda was last seen eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway, Herrera said.

The crash investigation prompted the closure of Pacific Coast Highway between Harbor and Oregon avenues, he said.
