A youth leader at Saint Francis of Assisi church in Fillmore was arrested Monday on one felony count of lewd and lascivious acts on a teen girl after a four-month investigation by Ventura detectives.
The female victim alleges that Vidal Morales, 55, sexually assaulted her in 2013 while he was still serving as a coordinator at the church, investigators said.
Morales was still employed as the church's youth coordinator when he was arrested.
During the investigation, detectives found other victims of Morales, who has been working at the church for 22 years.
Morales was booked into Ventura County Main Jail and his bail has been set at $20,000. Detectives say that the investigation is still ongoing.
