Alleged Hookers Disrupt Hemet Businesses

HEMET, Calif. -- Five suspected prostitutes were arrested in Hemet in response to merchants' complaints about street walkers disrupting their businesses, police said Friday.

Dyanna Falconer, 19; Pamela Gutierrez, 45; Sharrell Hawkins, 20; Tamika Ransom, 28, and Vikki Trevelyan, 50, were arrested Thursday afternoon on Florida Avenue during a sting by the Hemet Police Department's Crime Suppression Unit, said police Sgt. Jim Anderson.

The women were arrested on suspicion of solicitation, which is a misdemeanor, he said.

"Several businesses along Florida Avenue have complained that prostitution has disrupted their businesses and driven off customers," Anderson said in a statement.

The women were booked into Hemet Jail, cited and released, he said.
