Angelenos Hold Inauguration Parties All Over the Southland Tuesday Night

Not everyone got to go to Washington D.C. Tuesday for the inauguration of President Barack Hussein Obama.   Nevertheless dozens of parties were held all over Southern California Tuesday night as Angelenos celebrated Southland style with outdoors barbecues and warm weather.

The Channel 4 News sent photographers to Downtown Los Angeles, Culver City, Lynwood, and Westwood where jubilant crowds paid tribute to the nation's 44th president.

An Inaugural Gala featuring red carpet arrivals, live performances, a rebroadcast of the presidential inauguration, a slide show tribute and award ceremony was held at J Restaurant Lounge in Downtown Los Angeles.

About 40 neighbors gathered outdoors in the 4200 block of Keystone Avenue in Culver City Tuesday evening to watch a recording of the inauguration and share barbecued food.

Generation Obama L.A. and The California Democratic Party held a gathering at the lounge Whiskey Blue in Westwood.

A fundraiser inauguration gala was held at Bateman Hall in Lynwood. The $44 per person red carpet party raised money for Lynwood Senior Service.
