An ex-con who had a dozen starving Chihuahuas at his property in the Antelope Valley was sentenced Thursday to seven years in state prison after pleading no contest to animal cruelty and other counts.
Ignacio Jesus Adame, 43, entered his plea to three counts each of cruelty to an animal and possession of a firearm by a felon, along with one count of making criminal threats, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Adame threatened to shoot water company employees who went to his property last Nov. 21 to disconnect the meter, resulting in his arrest.
