Hubert also was on the receiving end of something wonderful. Upcoming on Dec. 22? Look for the giant river otters at Rainforest of Americas to open gifts at 11 a.m., while the snow leopards will open their gifts on Dec. 23, 2018 (also at 11 in the morning).

More presents shall be opened on Dec. 29 and 30, at 11 a.m. both days. The lions are up on the final Saturday of 2018, while the giant river otters will again open some cool stuff, this time on Dec. 30.

So many denizens of the Griffith Park destination have been a part of this holiday tradition over the years. Coming up on Jan. 5? The Sumatran tigers are in the gift-opening spotlight, at 11 a.m., while the Sichuan takins will take their turn on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.
