Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying the people responsible for shooting out car windows with a BB gun on the Riverside (91) Freeway.
Eight motorists' vehicles sustained damage in the apparent random acts of vandalism Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., BB gun pellets were fired at moving vehicles on the 91, from Magnolia Avenue to the 60/91/215 interchange, a roughly 10-mile stretch, authorities said.
The suspects targeted sport utility vehicles, luxury sedans and standard models, according to a CHP incident report.
In several cases, the vehicles' windows were blown out.
"One BB was located inside one vehicle," the report stated. "Based on the time element between incidents, it appears the suspects are shooting from another vehicle."
No injuries were reported.
