Learning about science? Participating in a hands-on activity that grows knowledge? Running around for a bit, all to get some fresh air and exercise?
A visit to Kidspace Children's Museum in Pasadena can keep a little one busy on several fun fronts, for sure.
After all, climbing around the Arroyo Adventure, a popular part of the popular Pasadena-based educational institution, has a way of building appetites, as does the "makerspace" found in Kidspace's Imagination Workshop.
Local news from across Southern California
A family could depart the Rose Bowl-close museum, in search of sustenance or snacks, but staying close to Kidspace, so a day of delights and discovery can continue, seems the better route.
Enter the brand-new Bean Sprouts Café, which made its yummy debut at the museum at the beginning of February 2019.
The "hip and healthy concept" gives families "a playful eating experience," one that includes a line-up of Imaginibbles.
Say that again: Imaginibbles.
Think creative cuisine, for the kidly set, with plenty of veges and fruits present. The Crocamole rocks avocado, yep (and is actually served in one half of the alligator pear), while the butterfly-inspired Flutter Bite has a stalk of celery at its center (as well as a filling sandwich).
The Grilledzilla is, yes, a spin on the grilled cheese but with a bit of monster-y grrr.
"Bean Sprouts' clean ingredient guidelines empowers kids to make their own good-for-you choices," is the good word from the web site.
Adults have their own choices to make, too, including "the sophisticated sandwich, salad, and pizza options," and an espresso bar, too (it's organic).
Making for this mind-grower of a museum soon with the young'uns in tow? Plan to stay all day? Peruse the Bean Sprouts menu now, and start planning your lunch at this new addition to a Pasadena favorite.
