Bears Sprint Off After Sirens Sound in Arcadia Neighborhood

Police used their sirens and horns to scare the bears away.

A mother bear and her two cubs were spotted in Arcadia Sunday evening before police arrived and scared them back into the wash.

The bears were seen walking in the 1800 block of Highland Oaks Drive at about 6 p.m. Sunday. Police scared them back into the wash by using their sirens and horns.

Arcadia police said bears in the foothill neighborhood is not an unusual occurence. They usually come down from the hills above the community in search of an easy snack.
