Bicyclist Killed in Hit-And-Run Died Six Decades Too Soon, Mother Says

Marita Prandoni pleaded for public help Friday to find the hit-and-run killer of her son, Joseph, who found beauty in unlikely places and people.

During a news conference announcing a $50,000 reward for information leading to the killer, she was overcome with grief talking about her son.

"Joe was a real free spirit," she said through tears.

The 32-year old was on his bicycle headed east on Manchester Avenue last Saturday night when he was killed just after 9 p.m.

Officials released security video of the suspected driver in a speeding Nissan Cube, said LAPD Detective Ryan Moreno.

"Whoever has committed this act should turn themselves in," said Noel Prandoni, the victim's sister.

Noel says her older brother was an amazing artist, his parents proudly showing some of his artwork but it's not how he earned a living.
