An overturned semi truck prompted a two-hour closure of a stretch of the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sylmar Wednesday.
The collision was reported just before 3 p.m. Wednesday on the overpass from the southbound side of the freeway to the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The truck's accident sent some chunks of concrete onto the Golden State Freeway below, possibly damaging a few cars, according to news footage from the scene. One person was taken by paramedics to a hospital in unknown condition, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
It was not immediately known if the driver of the truck or an occupant of another vehicle was taken to a hospital. Lanes were closed for about two hours to allow authorities to investigate the collision and clear the area, and traffic was diverted onto the southbound and northbound truck lanes.

The CHP announced just after 5:05 p.m. that all lanes of the freeway had been reopened.
