Human Remains Found in Burning South LA Trash Can

Human remains were found early Monday inside a burning trash can in South Los Angeles.

The discovery was made at about 3 a.m. on a street in the 8100 block of South Grand Avenue, Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

"An officer observed a trash can fire and when he went to extinguish it he observed human legs," Officer Norma Eisenman of Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations told City News Service.

Details about the individual's identity and a cause of death were not immediately avialable.
