Burglars Steal Sensitive Data from 60-Plus SoCal Businesses

Los Angeles police say burglars broke into a suburban Woodland Hills office building and took computers containing credit card numbers, legal documents and other sensitive information from at least 60 businesses.

Officer Karen Rayner says the theft at the Chateau Office Building occurred early Saturday.

The offices of attorneys, accountants, a talent agency and other businesses are assessing the extent of their losses.

Some business owners say monitors, printers, copiers and other equipment were left behind, leading them to conclude that the thieves were after the information contained on the hard drives.
