Car Crashes Into 7-Eleven Convenience Store

Two employees were inside at the time but were not near the impact of the crash, officials said.

A car crashed into a 7-Eleven convenience store in La Habra just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

An elderly woman driving a Lexus sedan crashed into the front of the 24-hour convenience store located on 2001 W. Central Avenue, La Habra Police Department Sgt. Kyle Davis said.

The crash caused major damage to both the outside and the inside of the store, Davis said.

Two employees were inside at the time but were not near the impact of the crash, Davis said.

The driver of the car mistook the gas pedal for the brakes and accelerated into the 7-Eleven, officials said. She was able to walk away with no injuries.

Workers with the 7-Eleven company are expected to come out to repair the damages to the store sometime later Sunday, Davis said.

The amount of damage to the store and merchandise was not immediately known.
