Stuck Gas Pedal Blamed for Glendale Starbucks Crash, Says Driver

Three suffer minor injuries, say firefighters

A stuck gas pedal appears to be the culprit behind a morning accident that sent a car into a Glendale Starbucks and three people to the hospital, said the vehicle's driver.

When the car sped up, the woman swerved to avoid pedestrians and ended up crashing into the storefront, she said.

The incident happened about 8:30 a.m. near Glenoaks Boulevard and Western Avenue.

Two passengers in the vehicle and one person in the store sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, according to the Glendale Fire Department.

Aerial video showed firefighters sweeping up glass scattered around the front of the store. At least one glass panel was destroyed and what appeared to be signs were stacked in a nearby pile of rubble.
