A vehicle struck a 6-year-old boy who was on foot in North Hollywood on Monday afternoon, prompting authorities to call for an air ambulance.
The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. The air ambulance was called to the intersection of Sherman Way and Whitsett Avenue (map), according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The extent of the boy's injuries was not immediately known.
