Caught On Camera: Thief Pushes Employee to Ground in $1,000 Department Store Theft

The suspects brought in reusable Marshalls' bags in an effort to conceal the theft, according to police.

Torrance Police are looking for four people who entered a Marshalls store in Torrance and stole more than $1,000 in merchandise in January by using reusable Marshalls’ bags.

The theft occurred at the Marshalls store in the Del Amo Fashion Center at 3525 Carson on Monday, Jan. 20 around 5 p.m.

Surveillance cameras captured footage of the suspects, one of whom violently shoved an employee to the ground when she was asked to have her purse checked. That suspect had set off the store alarm while attempting to exit, according to police.

"There's four suspects total, two females and two males. The main person, the person that made physical contact with this loss prevention agent, described as in her 30s, heavy set, and obviously wearing a blue dress," Torrance Police Sgt. Robert Watt said.

Police have released surveillance footage and have asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.

The suspects are described as the following: black female adult, black hair with red tips, 5 foot 6 inches to 5 foot 7 inches tall, 200 to 220 pounds, wearing a blue dress; black female adult, black hair 5 foot 4 inches to 5 foot 5 inches tall, 130 to 140 pounds, wearing a blue shirt and black pants; black male adult, 6 feet to 6 foot 2 inches tall, 180 to 200 pounds, wearing a black beanie, gray shirt, and blue jeans; black male adult, 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 7 inches tall, 150 to 170 pounds, wearing a black beanie, red t-shirt, and black shorts.
