Celebrate Pisco Sour Day at Los Balcones

The Peruvian restaurant will raise a glass, or rather five different glasses, to the classic cocktail, in Hollywood.

What to Know

  • 1360 Vine St., Hollywood
  • $13 each, $25 for a flight of 3

World Pisco Sour Day may be a few days away — it's Feb. 7, but you probably didn't even need to check your calendar to know that — and restaurants that regularly serve the storied Peruvian sip will celebrate in a multitude of ways.

Including Los Balcones, in Hollywood, which will devote Saturday, Feb. 2 to the Pisco-perfect crafting of the refreshing cocktail. A cocktail that does boast a base of Pisco, the famous fermented brandy that's closely tied with Peru, but a host of other lively ingredients, too.

In other words? A Pisco Sour is a creative-at-heart beverage that can be easily reimagined in several ways, which cocktail pro Santino Balotta will be doing in honor of the holiday.

Mr. Balotta has created five different Pisco Sours, and you can stop by Los Balcones on Feb. 2 and enjoy one for $13.

Prefer a flight of three? That's $25.

The quintet includes Driving Me Cuzco (think banana), a blood orange take called Bloody Hell, a mixed berry Pisco Sour, a sour that's based on passion fruit, and the Balcones Sour.

But the special and spirited occasion isn't the only Pisco party that Los Balcones has in mind. The Feb. 2 line-up of pop-up Pisco Sours is serving as a libation-lovely launchpad for The Pisco Society, which will include "... special tastings, guest appearances, unique promotions, and much more."
