An overnight storm brought snow to Frazier Park, prompting CHP escorts through the Grapevine area that began at about midnight.  The escorts continued until 3 a.m., then began again at about 5 a.m. before road conditions improved late Monday morning.

"Snow is falling and sticking again on I-5 over the Grapevine summit," the CHP Central Division tweeted early Monday.

Temperatures were in the mid-20s at about 5 a.m. Monday in the Gorman area, where high wind advisories are in effect.

"It looks like the worst of the rain and snow has moved east," said NBC4 forecaster Elita Loresca. "We're going to replace the rain and snow with wind today. Even some of our valleys are looking at damaging winds today."

Gusts might top 60 mph in mountain areas. Expect gusts up to 45 mph on the coast.
