Clarice is back home in San Luis Obispo after hours on the lam.
The 23-foot, 130-pound reticulated python slithered out of its owner's home late Sunday and wasn't found until Monday afternoon -- stretched out in the sun in the yard of a neighbor's home.
Owner Brandon Dennis discovered Clarice and a smaller python missing on Monday morning. The smaller snake -- a 13-footer -- was found right away under a back yard deck.
Because the python poses a threat to small children and pets, San Luis Obispo police, county Animal Control officers and the sheriff's Search & Rescue Team were called in to find Clarice.
Police Sgt. Kurt Hixenbaugh says Dennis doesn't face charges, noting it's legal to own a python and "there is no leash law for a snake."
