A horrific crash that sent a car airborne off of the freeway killed a boyfriend and girlfriend, both 18, in Hacienda Heights Sunday night.
"I heard someone in agonizing pain," said witness Salvador Coralus, who rushed to the area after seeing the crash.
Family members of the victims who died were at the scene of the crash, and confirmed that the boyfriend and girlfriend were 18 years old.
George Steward II was identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office as one of the victims who died. His girlfriend has not yet been identified.
"I heard the ugliest sound you could hear,” Juan Castaneda, a witness, said. “Just grinding metal."
LA County Fire reported the crash around 7:15 p.m.
The accident involving two vehicles occurred near a Denny’s Restaurant on South 7th Avenue.

A black sedan was speeding down the off-ramp coming off of the 60 Freeway.
The car struck a dip in the road, hit a median and went airborne.
It struck a white pick-up truck driven by the victims and the force ripped off the roof, according to the California Highway Patrol.
"There was no brakes, just a crash, a boom, and just metal bending," Castaneda said.
The black sedan flipped onto its roof. The woman and man inside the black car were suspended upside down before being extracted, but are expected to be OK.
CHP confirmed two people inside the white truck died.
The families of the victims were absolutely devastated and too distraught to speak any further.
CHP is investigating why the black sedan was traveling so fast. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
A witness told CHP that the black sedan was spotted traveling erratically on the freeway prior to the crash.
A SigAlert went into effect, closing the northbound 7th Avenue off-ramp on the eastbound 60.
The SigAlert cleared later Sunday evening.
