DEA Moves on Alleged SoCal Ecstasy Ring

The Drug Enforcement Administration says its agents have raided about a half-dozen Southland locations and arrested two men for allegedly making and distributing the drug ecstasy. They are 32-year-old Kalib Kersh of Venice and 60-year-old Mason Lyte of Santa Barbara. Both are expected to make their initial appearance in federal court in Los Angeles on Friday.

According to the DEA, agents raided an ecstasy lab in the Glassell Park area on Thursday and confiscated about 500 tablets, along with a substantial amount of chemicals used to manufacture the drug. Agents also served warrants in Los Angeles, Van Nuys, Venice, La Verne, Santa Barbara and Carpinteria.
